In existence for 80 years, the Active 20-30 Club of Napa is part of a national and international community service organization for men and women dedicated to helping children in local communities. Through community projects and fundraisers, the Active 20-30 Club of Napa contributes both time and money to the community in support of children in the Napa Valley. The Club organizes free community events each year including a Fishing Derby, an Easter Egg Hunt at Kennedy Park, and Kids’ Day. Our biggest hands-on project, Project Santa, is an annual gift-giving project for mentally, physically or financially disadvantaged children. Additionally, each year the Club awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

April 3rd - Easter Egg Hunt

Typically, about 500 children and their families join us for a morning of treasure hunting, face painting, story telling, balloon animals, and pictures with the Easter Bunny, and other costumed characters. Our local fire department makes a special trip out to enjoy the day with the Napa children. We also distribute hundreds of books to kids, at this event. This year the event will be held on April 3rd at Kennedy Park. The event begins at 10:00 am, the egg hunt begins at 11:00 am sharp.

May 23rd - George Carl Kids Fishing Derby

Lake Hennessey

Another free community event, this long-standing tradition began 41 years ago to introduce the sport of fishing to young people. Today, it has blossomed into a day of good–old fashioned family fun. Children ages 3-16 have from 6:00 until noon to catch the biggest fish they can. Club members and other volunteers are on hand to help less experienced fishers. Prizes are given for different age groups and different species of fish and EVERY child goes home with a prize for participating.

May 1st - Kids’ Day

Kids’ Day is a youth activities fair presented in partnership with Cope family center. This event promotes activities—from sports to science and everything in between—to children, encouraging them to be active and involved. Along with information, local clubs and businesses bring equipment to give kids a hands-on chance to test their skills or try something new. This event is free to the public, and will be located in downtown Napa.

October 23rd - Halloween Extravaganza

What has become a Napa tradition, this year will be our 34th Annual Extravaganza. This blow-out costume party is held at the Napa fairgrounds.  Held the Saturday before Halloween, this is the largest party of its kind in Napa County and serves as our primary fundraiser.

Guests are served tri tip dinner, entertained with live music, enjoy access to an open bar and a casino hall.

December - Project Santa

For more than 30 years, the Active 20-30 Club of Napa has been purchasing clothes and toys for local underprivileged children through our Project Santa.  Typically, we supply gifts to about 150 children at various elementary and pre-schools in Napa County. The club, and Santa Claus, visit schools catering to children with special physical or severe financial need. Each child receives warm weather clothing and a toy purchased specifically for them and is invited to sit on Santa’s lap for a special photo.
